Contribute in keeping the city clean with simple actions, such as not accumulating garbage in the house, streets, plots, beaches, rivers and seas. Do not throw garbage through the window and do not smoke in public indoor spaces.

Plant trees at home and along main streets and avenues.

Use spare water from the kettle and that already used for boiling and washing to water plants. Store rain water in closed containers to wash cars and sidewalks, thus saving water – a limited natural resource – in everyday actions.

Reduce the use of electricity between 6 and 9 pm. Switch off all equipments not in use, thus avoiding electricity shortages.

Participate in selective recycling of garbage – at home, at work, at school – persuading other people to do the same.

Save paper. Print only important documents and try to use both sides of the sheet. The back may be used for drafts, messages or children drawings.

Participate in actions for the preservation and defense of your own local environment (seas, lakes, rivers, beaches, mountains, mangroves, forests, etc).

Get involved in social projects aimed at building water tanks and drainage for low-income families in rural or urban areas
